THE HOLLYWOOD HOTEL

Built in 1903, the Hollywood Hotel provided Tinsel Town's first luxury accommodations. By the 1920s the hotel and its Dining Room of the Stars had become a social center for silent film celebrities. The hotel gained national prominence when a famous gossip columnist began opening her nationally syndicated radio program with the words, "This is Louella Parsons broadcasting from the Hollywood Hotel." The long standing Hollywood landmark was finally demolished in 1956.

The Hollywood Hotel also served as the scene of the crime in H.P. Oliver's new e-mystery in history, SILENTS!
